¡Hola! These are the first things you learn in Spanish. How to greet, the numbers from one to ten and introducing yourself.

It is good to always revise these simple but very useful words and expressions!

In the Classroom..
Look at the pictures and try to figure out what the words and greetings mean. These greetings here are informal.
These are the numbers from one to ten. You will see higher numbers later on. The numbers are important to say the age, prices and a lot more.
These are useful expressions we need to use in class. Instead of saying: How do you say? You will learn to ask for meaning, definition or spelling in Spanish.

Listening comprehension is important to get used to the Spanish sounds and improve your pronunciation.
Please listen to the first audio and complete the gaps with the language you think they are speaking. Is it Spanish? Is is German? Only write down the language you think it is. This is for you to start recognizing the language.
Then, in the second audio, you will listen to greetings in Spanish, to say hello and good bye. Just write the order in which you hear the greetings being said.
You can check the answers below. Do not look at the answers until you have listened to the audios from two to three times.

Higher Numbers
Let's to learn higher numbers. Numbers from 1 to 100 are useful to say your age. Notice how you can group them so as to remember better.
Numbers 11-15 all finish in -CE
Numbers 16-19 all begin with DIECI-
Numbers 21-29 is only one word with an I in the middle: veintiuno, veinticuatro, veintinueve..
Numbers 31-39, 41-49, 51-59, 61-69, 71-79, 81-89, 91-99 are all three words separated by Y: treinta y uno, cuarenta y tres, sesenta y dos.
